Magickart.in | An Online shopping portal | Website Review

Its been a long time since I did a product review. But thats not the only reason that I took up this chance. I have known the site long before and have browsed it quite a few times. The ease to navigate around and the clarity of the website is something that you will be hooked to. I didn't had to be asked twice and so here I am joining hands with the people from Magickart.in for a product review just in time for your Christmas and New year shopping. No walking around stores, waiting in queues or getting crushed in that crowd. Your gifts to friends, relatives or yourself is just a click away.

About the website: Magickart.in is the leading online shopping portal in India for Kitchen appliances and Cookware. With an exclusive collection of Cookware, Bakeware and Kitchen Appliances, equip your kitchen with the best products to make cooking more enjoyable and easy. The Dining range is sure to give your dining table a fresh look. All this at the best prices you can find online or offline.

If you are a first time user, you are sure to be welcomed with a surprise. Sign up and claim voucher worth Rs.1500. Now isn't that tempting. Sure it is, without any doubt.

The website itself is neatly organised, categorised perfectly and easy on the eyes. And even if you are lost or you need assistance on anything then there is a chat window at the bottom right which will surely take you to the right place. Moving on to the varieties they hold, it ranges from cookware to kitchenware to appliances and even home decor ~ in short anything and everything that your kitchen wants. Being a baking freak, it was the bakeware section that I checked out first and to be frank I was impressed. From baking accessories to cake pans they have a good selection indeed. Bakeware brands include Silico, Wonderchef, Tescoma, Silikomart, Chef'n, JVL classic ware and Mastrad. Popular baking products include Sweaty Bear Cake moulds, Tescoma delicia muffins pan, copper finish choco mould and more. I am totally in love with their cookie sheet and Highflower cake mould. It would be a great addition to my bakeware collection.

The appliances section is sure gonna steal your heart if you are a gadget freak. It includes Induction Cook Top, Mixer Grinder, Rice Cooker, Roti Maker, Blenders, Coffee makers and many more. The brands include Pigeon, Wonderchef, Preethi and Murugan, and Oster and Morphy Richards when it comes to foreign makes. I am definitely getting the Oster coffee maker and Morphy Richards Sandwich toaster and Grill.

Now don't even get me started with their Storage and dining collection. I am literally hooked to the canister range. They look boo-ti-ful and will make great food props too. They have a wide selection of dinnerware sets too, mainly the Corelle brand. If you are a prop hunter like me then you have to give it a shot. For example this cutlery set would be great on many photos.

Once you are done with your choices, either go for an online payment or you could opt for a cash on delivery too. Magickart.in provides free delivery across India on order valued above Rs.300 and more. For all order value below Rs.300, they charge Rs.40 extra as shipping & handing chargers. Once ordered, it will be delivered to your door step within 2-5 working days and they do promise a 30 day replacement guarantee.

The website is definitely worth a try and with the season of gifts coming up, do give it a shot to gift something useful to your loved ones.

Disclaimer: This is a website review. All the finds and opinions are owned by me. However I was compensated by Magickart.in for my opinions.

Just Eat India | Website Review and a Christmas Giveaway for my Indian Readers

Just Eat India – Get Home Delivery from your Favourite Restaurants

A couple of years ago, who would ever have thought that a day would come when you could even get something like a pickle, or a pair of slippers home delivered? But then, we’re presently living in the era of ‘online ordering’ where, believe it or not, everything you could possibly need (or want!) is simply a click away. So then, why would anybody opt to order, say, groceries online instead of visiting a shop, for instance? Here’s why:

• Cost-saving. First and foremost, you save your money; on fuel, on public transportation etc which you otherwise spend unnecessarily on to-and-fro visits to the outlet.
• Time-saving. But of course. And time, as they say, is money.
• Round-the-clock ordering. Time is no bar when you’re placing your orders online. You’re free to do it at 3 am or 3 pm, totally your call.
• Exclusive deals and discounts. Another one of those factors that come into play when you place your orders online. At any given time, there are numerous offers going on which will again save your money and get you a good deal.
• Delivery at your doorstep. Yes, you don’t need to step out of home either. Very convenient and hassle-free.

With Online Food Ordering Apps making their way into the market, getting home delivery of food has taken on an entirely new meaning. And when it comes to getting food home delivered, then of course the obvious choice is the restaurant next door. What if you could find the menus of all the restaurants that will deliver in your area and could pick and choose the items you want sitting comfortably at home? What if there was North Indian, South Indian, Chinese, Japanese and even cakes and sweets that you could order online and get home delivered? And best of all, what if you could just pay online for your food as well and not bother about sorting out the exact change when the delivery boy rings your doorbell?

JUSTEAT India – India’s largest online food ordering portal and table reservation website – has made all this and more possible. Once on the homepage, you see a search box at the top which is very helpful and will lead you to the restaurant of your choice. You could use this in three ways. One, if you know exactly which restaurant you want to order from, type in the name of the restaurant in the box. Click on ‘Search’ and you’ll probably get your restaurant at the top of a list of several other similar restaurants. Two, you could type in the cuisine you would like.

For example, if I am looking for Chinese cuisine among the Restaurants in Bangalore, I get a list of all restaurants that serve Chinese fare and I can then filter the list based on my location. And last but not the least, you could enter your location in the search box (this I feel is by far the most convenient option). You get a list of all restaurants in your area and can then choose which cuisine or restaurant to go for. So there! Very convenient, a huge amount of choice and timely delivery – now isn’t that a complete package for every foodie?

Now for the fun part. Just Eat India is giving away JUSTEAT coupons worth Rs.200/- for four of my readers. All you need to do is enter in the below Rafflecopter widget. Here are the rules.

> These coupon codes entitle you to food worth 200/- for FREE.
> Valid on all online payment restaurants in Bangalore, Delhi, Mumbai, Pune and Chennai.
> Select your location from the 'Choose Location' drop-down menu at the top of the page to get a list of restaurants that deliver in your area and take your pick.
Minimum order amount should be atleast 400/- (can be more as well. For example, if your total order amount comes to 400/-, then 200/- worth of food you get free and you'll be paying just Re.200/-. If the order amount is 500/-, then you'll be paying just 300/- and so on). This means that a minimum amount of Rs.400/- needs to be paid to avail this 200/- Off voucher.
> The coupons can be used just once and are valid till January 15, 2014.
> These coupons are valid only through India.
> The contest runs from today to the 23rd of December just in time for your Christmas dinner.

Not in India, don't worry, enter to win and order restaurant dishes to surprise your loved ones in Bangalore, Delhi, Mumbai, Pune and Chennai or give coupons to friends who are living in the above mentioned cities. Now isn't that worth a try. Do go ahead and send in your entries.

27coupons.com and a giveaway

Discounts has always been a hit among people. Whatever you buy/order, you first check whether there is a discount coupon attached to it. Take me for example, I love shopping, shopping for dresses, props, toys for the kid, from anything to everything, I love it. Shopping is like an obsession to me much to the wrath of DH. He often quotes that "I'm a pain in the *** when it comes to shopping". Who cares, not that I do not care at all, I care less cos I love shopping and my love doubles when there is a discount, an end of season sale, a buy one get one or two or three mela somewhere. To be frank, I am generally on the lookout for such discounts and if one appears in the daily newspaper nothing can stop me from giving a visit to the store.

Technology is to make your life easier and so they invented deals and coupons, so that you can buy stuff cheap sitting in the comfort of your home. Deals or coupons is one among the many latest hits in the market. Almost all websites and brands are attracting customers with their deal melas. Many websites have their own deals, for instance ebay. Some websites collect deals/coupons and accommodate them in their website, like 27coupons. 27coupons.com is a website where you can find hundreds of coupons on your favorite brands and they come to you ABSOLUTELY FREE. Do check out their list of stores, name a store and you will find it there for sure. The website has a pleasing layout and is easy to navigate and understand that even a layman can get the hang of it in minutes.

I love pizza and I love dominoes and yesterday was pizza time ON A DISCOUNTED PRICE for us, thanks to 27coupons. I am totally in love with the site and will keep visiting it for more coupon codes. And then there is MYNTRA, we shop often from Myntra, tees, caps and shirts for the huss mostly. All those myntra coupons are definitely gonna help us.

And now to the deal that I have with 'em. 27coupons.com are sponsoring 4 gift vouchers of Flipkart worth Rs 250 as giveaways for my readers. Here is what you have to do to win it.

Hudson Canola Oil ~ Product Review and Eggless Chocolate Banana Bread

Few weeks back, close to one month back I got an email from a sweet lady who was sweet enough to caption the email as "Love Ur Blog". That email really, totally made my day. The email was for a product review ~ a free sample of Hudson Canola Oil. They would send me a sample, I had to cook and blog about it. I happily accepted it and a week later I got the sample pack. It was properly packed, in good condition and accompanied by a cookbook, a pamphlet featuring the benefits of canola oil and a note to ME.

'From their website'
What is Canola?
Canola is now a global phenomenon: the fastest growing edible oil in the world! Hudson Canola Oil® comes to you directly from the finest, most sophisticated facilities in the Prairie regions of western Canada, where canola was first discovered. Hudson Canola is brought to you by Dalmia Continental, owners of Leonardo Olive Oil®.
Canola is neutral in flavour and aroma with no distinctive taste or smell.
Canola Oil is extruded from the seeds of the yellow Canola flower.
Canola Oil has the lowest saturated fat amongst all oils, very high monounsaturated fat, very high Omega-3 and rich Vitamin-E content.
Do check out their website to know more and to shop online.

I initially thought of pan toasting some healthy oats cutlets with Hudson Canola oil but then baking with canola oil has always been my dream mainly because they are neutral flavored and I have bookmarked so many recipes using canola oil in their baking and so without a second thought I baked!!! I made these Chocolate banana mini loaves for our tea and it was moist, soft and perfect and there was no dominant oil-flavor. I made it extra healthy by adding wheat flour and so it was a tad bit on the denser side.

Adapted from Taste Of Home
~*What U Need*~
All purpose flour - 1/2 cup
Wheat flour - 1/2 cup
Sugar - 1/4 cup
Brown sugar - 1/4 cup
Hudson Canola Oil - 1/4 cup
Cocoa powder - 2 tbsp
Banana - 1 or mashed banana - 1/2 cup
Milk - 1/4 cup
Vanilla extract - 1/2 tsp
Baking powder - 1/2 tsp
Baking soda - 1/4 tsp
Walnuts - 1/4 cup, optional

How I made it:
Preheat oven to 175C. Line and grease a mini loaf pan, I used my silicon pan. In another mixing bowl, combine the flour-s, cocoa, baking powder and baking soda and a pinch of salt. Sieve well.

In a mixing bowl, add the sugar and canola oil and cream well.

Add banana, milk and vanilla and whisk well.

Add the flour to the banana mixture and mix until just combined. Fold in nuts if desired. Transfer to the pan and bake for 35-40 mins or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean. Cool for 10 minutes before removing from pan to a wire rack.

Serve with tea/coffee/milk and a note.. do try out their canola oil. It is super healthy and you will love it.

** My Notes:
** The original recipe used butter.
** Since I used wheat flour, I added 1/4 cup milk but if you are using only all purpose flour then use 2 1/2 tbsp of milk.
** Use good quality baking cocoa.
** Do not skip walnuts, I was out of walnuts and so skipped it but I missed the crunch in the bread.
** The original recipe uses egg but I skipped it.

Britannia Multigrain thins - a product review and chaat variety

We love britannia products, the common favorite being its 5 grain biscuits and digestive biscuits, the huss being a fan of their classic lite crackers and I use their digestive biscuits for all my biscuit bases. So when they came up with their new product, Multigrain thins, I was we were determined to get hold of a packet and try them. We chose the tomato and herb flavor and a bite was enough to like the product totally. They were soft, crunchy and filled with flavors but we felt that there was more salt. So the next time when I got it I tried to contradict the overpowering salt content by making a simple chaat out of it.

This comes in 3 flavors - Classic Indian Spice, Herb Tomato and Lime and Mint. We preferred the Herb tomato of the lot.
Disclaimer: This is not a paid review / company recommended review. I have posted the review out of my own interest and experiences.

So coming to the chaat that I tried out of the thins.
~*What U Need*~
Britannia Multigrain thins - 1 packet
I used Herb Tomato flavor
Onion(medium) - 1/2
Tomato(medium) - 1/2
Chopped coriander leaves - 2 tbsps
Curd - 1/4 cup
Salt, Pepper, Chaat masala - to taste
Sev / Omapodi - as needed
Chaat Green chutney & Red chutney - optional

How I Made it:
Coarsely break the multigrain thins into smaller pieces. Chop the onions and tomatoes finely. Mix the curd well with some salt.
Spread the thins on a serving plate. Sprinkle onions, tomatoes and coriander leaves on top. Sprinkle some salt, pepper and chaat masala. Pour 1-2 tbsps of curd on top followed by the sev.

Serve as evening snack. You can also add some chaat green and red chutney for an increased flavor.
