Oats Porridge with Banana & Dates

Oh dear god... I didn't know that my blog was so clumsy and ppl were finding it difficult to read the contents. I would have been continuing my ignorance on this but thanks to my blog friends Authenticoriyafood and Lakshmi who were kind enough to point this out to me... And as a result you can find my blog in a new make-over. I have made some changes to make my blog clear. Please do drop in your comments on how this suits you guys now. Thanks again guys. So now onto the recipe. It is nothing but a simple oats porridge flavored with simple ingredients.

We usually have a steaming cup of oats porridge for our morning breakfast on weekdays. I usually add salt and curd to it as Mr A doesn't want excess 'refined' sugar to go into our daily diet these days. And believe me, the porridge is fit for a diabetic person. With no taste and only salt in it, it just freaks me out whenever I cook it. I just drain it down my throat as if it was a bitter medicine. Today morning, when I was getting ready to cook the porridge, my eyes fell over the fruit basket which had very ripe bananas in it. I wanted to use them but just making a banana-dates smoothie would never complete 'our' breakfast. So made a combination of bananas-dates-oats which was really tasty and different and moreover was tummy-filling with the goodness of fruits :)

Serves -2
~*What U Need*~
Oats - 12 tbsps
Water - 2 cups
Milk - 2 cups
Honey - to taste
Banana - 2
Dates - 10

How I Made It:
Blend the banana and dates together with 1 cup of milk. Set aside. Add oats to the rest of the milk and water and keep it aside for 10 mins. This will make the oats mushy and so will cook easily. Heat and cook the oats as per instructions on the package / till the oats is done. Will take around 10 mins.
Remove from flame and cool it to room temperature. Add the blended banana-dates mixture and mix well. Add honey to taste and serve.
