Dark Chocolate Cupcakes with Whipped Cream

When I was the kid, one of my cousin brothers would usually pamper me with vanilla cupcakes. Whenever he comes home he used to get one of the cupcakes and give it to me and I used to jump as if I got the moon herself. Since then I have been addicted to cupcakes. Even now I get a packet of the Modern cupcakes everytime I go shopping. I dont know why, I just prefer the compact cupcakes to the regular cakes. So this is the first time I tried baking my own cupcakes and I made some sinfully dark chocolate cupcakes... I served this to my mom and dad and they just loved it.

~*Ingredients*~
All purpose flour – 1 1/4 cup
Dark Cocoa powder – 4 tbsp

Sugar – 1 cup

Baking powder – 1 tsp

Baking soda – ½ tsp

Milk – 1 cup

Vinegar – 1 tsp

Egg – 1

Melted butter – 1 tbsp

Vanilla essence – 1 1/2 tsp

Whipping cream – 200 ml

Powdered sugar – 3-4 tbsp

Vanilla essence (for cream) – 1 tsp

Chocolate vermicelli / Colored sugar balls - to garnish

The Making:

Add the vinegar to milk and mix well with a spoon.
Set aside for few minutes after which the milk will start to curdle and become sour milk. Drain the water leaving minimum amount of water.
Sift together all purpose flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda and salt thrice
Melt the butter. Cream the sugar and butter together
Add the egg and mix well till creamy. Add the vanilla essence and beat well
Add the sour milk and combine everything without any lumps. Now add the flour mixture and fold in till well combined and lump-free
Line a muffin tray or individual muffin pans with muffin liners. Pour the batter till half-filled.
Place it in a steamer and steam for 30 minutes or until an inserted skewer comes out clean.
Or

Preheat the oven to 180 degrees C and bake for 35-40 mins until a tooth pick inserted comes out clean.

Place the cream and the beater blades in the freezer for about half an hour.
In a large bowl, add sugar and essence to the chilled cream
Beat well till the cream is thick and forms soft peaks. Keep refrigerated till use.

Dump the whipping cream into a Pipping bag with nozzle of ur choice and pipe the cream onto the cupcakes.
Sprinkle chocolate vermicelli or colored sugar balls on top and serve.
